Men’s Captain Address 2012

Dear Members

It is a great honour for me to represent you as your Captain for 2012. I will give the position the respect it deserves and will work diligently all year on your behalf. I know we have a very tough year ahead of us, as I said before it will take great team work from all three Clubs, Men’s, Ladies and Pitch & Putt. I wish Mary our Lady Captain, Conor our Junior Captain, Noel and Sheila our respective Pitch & Putt Captains and all your Committees the best of luck during the year.

I am looking forward with working with you all during the year. I am asking all our members to support our weekly Lotto, all our Club Competitions, and to please attend the functions organised to raise funds during the year. If you have any ideas about raising funds during the year, please pass the information to Michael Hennessy who is Chairman of the Finance Committee.

I expect to see new faces put their names down on the Inter Club Team sheets. If you wish to manage or help with a team feel free to contact me. Please help to promote the Club outside Woodlands, let it be to get a new member, or maybe a society in your area to play at Woodlands.

The one thing I will expect from all members, as we will keep the presentations down to a minimum during the year, if you have a prize to collect please be there to collect it, if not have a person nominated to collect the prize for you. Please don’t let me down on this. I wish John Williamson our President the best of luck with his year. I am looking forward to meeting you all during the year either on the fairway or in the clubhouse. I am available at all times to take a call from a member who may have some good ideas to help the club.

Best of luck with your Golf during the year.

LIAM MURPHY
